“From the left bank of the Rhône, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz’s deep-colored 2018 Grain Pinot Champ Dury opens with a very ripe, less concentrated bouquet featuring more plum notes. [...] The plum-driven nose leads to a warm, intense, and round palate with super-ripe, sweet fruit, structured by ripe tannins and a firm minerality that, in fact, offers hope for the future.” (Wine Advocate 2020 - Stephan Reinhardt)

About the wine:

From the left bank of the Rhône, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz’s dark-colored 2018 Grain Pinot Champ Dury opens with a very ripe, less concentrated bouquet featuring more plum notes. The 2018 tastes like a wine bottled without sulfur, and Marie-Thérèse agrees that she could have added more but believes the wine will be more precise and fresh in three or four years due to its phenols. The plum-driven nose leads to a warm, intense, and round palate with super-ripe, sweet fruit, structured by ripe tannins and a firm minerality that, in fact, offers hope for the future. Tasted in January 2020.
