“Aromas of white flowers, light honey, fresh bread, and green apple lead the way for the 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Forêts, a medium- to full-bodied wine that is silky and briny, lively and precise, with an elegant and subtly daring profile this year.” (Wine Advocate 2022).

Rated 3*Stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
A lovely, delicate nose, combining beautiful ripe fruit with floral notes; the palate is round, pleasant, and flavorful.
About the estate:
A long-established Chablis family, the Michels cultivate the finest vineyards, including both Premier Cru and Grand Cru sites. In fact, the estate is one of the very few to offer the Grenouilles Grand Cru, of which La Chablisienne remains the primary producer. Since 1969, winemaking has been carried out in stainless-steel tanks, so the wines here often start out rather understated in the bottle, but their minerality comes through effortlessly after a few years of aging.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Forêts 2020 stands out for its straw-like vegetal note. While its fruitiness seems delicate, it lacks a bit of vibrancy and energy.
