3*Star rating (High-quality production, a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
An old Chablis family, the Michel's cultivate the very best areas, both premier cru and grand cru. The estate is one of the very few to offer the Grenouilles Grand Cru, whose main producer is La Chablisienne. Since 1969, vinification has been carried out in stainless steel tanks, so that the wines here often start off discreetly in bottle, but their minerality reveals itself without concern after a few years' cellaring.

About the wine:
There's complexity on the nose, weight and concentration on the palate, as well as great acidity, all combined with ripe fruit and mineral notes on the finish. It's just been bottled, but it's still very beautiful. Manager Guillaume Michel notes that his Montée de Tonnerre is 100% Chapelot. It's a homogeneous, south-facing parcel, stretching from the bottom of Chapelot to the middle level.

About the wine:
The Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru 2022 has an attractive bouquet with hints of citrus-infused frangipane and hints of dried orange peel. The palate is well balanced with a waxy texture. Good delineation, quite saline, with a touch of tart lemon that melts into a light note of hazelnut and smoke. One of Louis Michel's finest premier crus.
