“A great Vougeot”

“A wealth of notes of damp earth and a spectrum of red and black cherries, along with a hint of smokiness. The palate is beautifully velvety and long, offering a striking array of juicy, rich, and sweet cherries that remain pure and fresh. Silky tannins have the final say. A great Vougeot. Drink from 2022. ” (James Suckling 2019)

Robert Parker - Wine Advocate

Wine rated (2021 guide) 94/100 (Outstanding wine)

About the wine:

Drouhin's 2018 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is showing very well, opening up in the glass with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, dark chocolate, incense, and flower petals. Full-bodied, rich, and enveloping, it is expansive and spectacular, with a concentrated core of fruit, succulent acidity, and velvety tannins that make it unusually approachable at this early stage.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe in the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and has established itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
