Côte de Nuits-Villages
The Côte de Nuits-Villages Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) covers several villages in the Côte d'Or department. The Côte de Nuits region spans an area of approximately 150 hectares, located entirely or partially within the municipalities of Brochon, Fixin, Prémeaux, Comblanchien, and Corgoloin. Wines from Côte de Nuits-Villages have heldthis appellation since 1964 and are notably represented by Maison Louis Jadot and Domaine Joseph Drouhin.

Adjacent to the vineyards of Côte de Beaune, the vineyards of the Côte de Nuits-Villages appellation are primarily planted on clay-limestone soils: the slopes of Comblanchien and Corgoloin feature granular limestone from the Upper Bathonian period. To the north of the Côte de Nuits-Villages, limestone with entroques is more common.

Côte de Nuits-Villages wines arered wines made almost exclusively from the Pinot Noir grape variety, and white wines made from the Chardonnay grape variety. Production of the latter is minimal in terms of quantity. The red Côte de Nuits wines have a distinct character, with noticeable fruitiness and a certain roundness, while the whites convey all the richness and aromatic depth so characteristic of Chardonnay.
