Louis Jadot

Who is Louis Jadot?

Louis Henry Denis Jadot is the founder of Maison Louis Jadot, a prestigious Burgundy wine merchant and producer. A native of Beaune, he founded the company in 1859, although it bears his name in tribute to his involvement in the Burgundy wine industry and his role in the trade of fine wines.

Today, Maison Louis Jadot is run by the talented duo of Pierre-Henry Gagey, who presides over the commercial destiny, and Jacques Lardière, an oenologist gifted with brilliant intuition. This tandem has raised Louis Jadot wines to the top of Burgundy's most prestigious appellations. Today, Maison Louis Jadot has 150 hectares of vineyards in Burgundy, including 70 hectares in the Côte d'Or, all in the most prestigious appellations, such as Volnay, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Gevrey-Chambertin, Meursault,...

Maison Louis Jadot 's expertise lies in its ability to understand and harness the multiplicity of terroirs that make up Burgundy, in order to get the best out of them. For 20 years, synthetic products have been banished in favor of working the land, following the precepts of sustainable agriculture, the only guarantee of respect for terroir. The Maison Louis Jadot is very much of its time, with a regularity that has been hailed by all, and which has no equal when it comes to offering ever more enchanting wines.

Louis Jadot wines, an enduring story

At Maison Louis Jadot, wine is synonymous with tradition, diversity and excellence. Over the years, the estate has acquired a reputation and scope that today make it one of the most important and appreciated in Burgundy. Louis Jadot Bourgogne wines are rooted in some of the finest single-vineyard vineyards in France. On its 225 hectares, 115 of which are in the Côte d'Or, the vineyards are planted with Chardonnet and Pinot Noir. Smaller quantities of Gamay and Aligoté are also produced. The company's influence is such that it even owns an estate in Oregon, USA.

Louis Jadot's emblematic grape varieties

  • Pinot Noir : character, finesse and ageing potential.
  • Chardonnay: freshness, fruitiness and minerality for your food and wine pairings
  • Other grape varieties: Gamay and Aligoté, for lighter or more festive occasions.
