"A Meursault with character and complexity, expressing its typicity perfectly with volume, fruit, finesse, and a 'crisp' minerality with subtle iodine flavors. The aging is elegant and brings a roundness balanced by freshness." (Les Meilleurs Vins de France - Gault Millau). Rated estate (2021 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

Under the leadership of Olivier Halley, Stéphane Follin-Arbelet, and cellar master Emmanuel Escutenaire, this estate, which expanded to 65 hectares in 2018, has undergone a revolution in recent years in its working methods and interpretation of the nature of its terroirs. Thirty hectares are farmed organically, with the aim of converting the entire estate within three years. Colossal investments made over three years in high-performance viticultural equipment have enabled progress to be made. The whites possess both a dynamic tension and a generous mouthfeel, even if 2018 is not the vintage that suits them best. The reds, whose berries are destemmed and optically sorted before undergoing low-temperature fermentation and then aged for 12 to 15 months in barrels (25 to 40% new), offer a sappy, fleshy, deep aspect, with the 2018s being particularly racy. This is an absolutely impressive progression in a very short time for an estate of this size.

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

The iconic Ch. de Meursault, a mecca for Burgundy tourism and wine folklore—where the famous Paulée is celebrated the day after the Hospices de Beaune auction—has often changed hands: it belonged to the Pierre de Blancheton family until the Revolution, then to the Serre family in the 19th century. ; the family of the Count of Moucheron; the Boisseaux family (Maison Patriarche) from 1973 onwards. In December 2012, there was another change: the Halley family bought the estate. Today, there are 65 hectares of vines in conversion to organic farming. At the helm of the winery is Emmanuel Escutenaire.

A Meursault just the way we like it, with unique character and minerality. This distinctive character is only found in the white wines of Château de Meursault. A must-try!
