Joseph Drouhin - Saint-Romain blanc 2023
93/100
James Suckling
“This Saint-Romain elevates Chardonnay in this surprising, limited-production cuvée—a wonderful discovery!”
“A smooth, pleasant texture, with notes of lanolin, honey, chalk, and stone. There are also hints of grape skin. A medium-bodied wine with lovely roundness and a lively finish. One to watch closely. Ready to drink now.” (James Suckling 2025)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the estate:
The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe in the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and has established itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
