(2012 Vintage Notes)

Les Carlines opens with a nose that is at once slightly wild, animal, and floral, and the palate responds with a burst of fruity flavors dominated by blackcurrant and crushed blueberries. We appreciate the emerging roundness of the tannins and the lovely bitter notes on the finish. A lovely bottle, as elegant as can be!

Rated wine (2015 guide) 14.5/20 (2012 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Mas Haut-Buis is, first and foremost, an exceptional high-altitude site, nestled some 650 meters above sea level, surrounded by scrubland, olive trees, and almond trees. The 14 hectares consist of no fewer than twelve distinct plots. Olivier Jeantet, who has been at the helm since 1999, is a self-taught winemaker who quickly grasped the intricacies of the craft and the rigor required to produce great wines of character that reflect the tension and integrity of the Terrasses du Larzac. A legacy of old vines, hard work in the vineyard, aging that favors large containers, and meticulously crafted blends have allowed this estate to rise among the appellation’s most reliable names.
