“The 18 months in barrel leave their mark on this almost pure Syrah, with a toasty, vanilla-scented nose against a backdrop of dark fruit. Pronounced on the palate but never overpowering, the aging has beautifully rounded out the fine, firm tannins that support a full-bodied, rich texture with remarkable freshness. This red wine has great depth and potential for aging; it’s best left to rest in the cellar for a few years.”(Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
This estate was the pride of Faugères in the 1990s, before being taken over by Julien Seydoux, who arrived here with the humility to learn about the terroir and the desire to bring Les Estanilles back to the forefront. The aging process is gradually adapting to the wines’ characteristics and still has room to improve. The reds are powerful and full of flavor; they are wines with a strong personality.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2021) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the wine:
The 18 months in barrel leave their mark on this nearly pure Syrah, with a toasty, vanilla-scented nose against a backdrop of dark fruit. Pronounced on the palate but never overpowering, the aging has beautifully rounded out the fine, firm tannins that support a full-bodied, rich, and remarkably fresh palate. This red wine has plenty of depth and aging potential and is best left to rest in the cellar for a few years.
About the estate:
In 2009, the self-taught winemaker Julien Seydoux purchased this 44-hectare estate, which is farmed organically and produces wines that are often outstanding. A sure bet.
