Maby Estate
After several generations of winegrowers, Domaine Maby remains a family-owned estate, located in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône region, just north of Avignon. The estate's sixty hectares span three appellations—Tavel, Lirac, and Côtes du Rhône—as well as Vins de Pays des Coteaux de Cèze.

Domaine Maby is committed to environmentally friendly farming practices, having signed a Sustainable Agriculture contract. Tavel and Lirac share the same terroir of rounded pebbles as Châteauneuf du Pape. These pebbles, torn from the Alps by the impetuous Rhône River in prehistoric times, allow the grapes to reach perfect maturity by storing heat during the day and releasing it at night.

Domaine Maby's Tavel is made from nine grape varieties, dominated by Grenache and Cinsault, which give this famous rosé its fruity and spicy character. Low-temperature vatting for one to two days gives it a shimmering color ranging from light rosé to ruby red and very supple tannins, which give it excellent aging potential. Slow fermentation at low temperatures preserves all the fruitiness of this wine. Domaine Maby's red Lirac is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre.  The white Lirac is a blend of Grenache, Clairette, and Picpoul. Grenache brings a very pronounced fruity character (apricot, pear), Clairette brings roundness, and Picpoul brings freshness, giving this wine a beautiful balance and excellent aging potential.

The hard work of the estate and its manager, Richard Maby, has been rewarded in 2021 by the Guide Hachette, which named him Winemaker of the Year 2021 for the southern Rhône Valley.
