"Campredon offers a vibrant style with a wonderfully juicy flavor!"
“Remarkably clear for an MSG blend, and also remarkably fragrant. No overripeness or over-extraction here! It is beautifully composed, playing the softness card with great care, and waltzing gracefully with tea-leaf-scented tannins. Cinnamon, red plum, cooked strawberry, dried cherry coated with rosemary and sage. Nothing flashy here, just a wine that speaks of its terroir.” (Jancis Robinson 2025).

Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 1*Star (A high-quality, recommended production that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Having settled in Montpeyroux in 1992, after stints at Château Montus and in Corsica, Alain Chabanon also cultivates vineyards in Jonquières, Saint-André, Lagamas, and Saint-Saturnin. A pioneer in organic winemaking, Alain is one of the most refined and fascinating winemakers around. While some vintages were occasionally the subject of debate in the past, magnificent new facilities have enabled the estate to take a significant step forward. The aging styles, which were previously quite noticeable, will evolve significantly with the shift to large oak vats instead of barrels. Concrete egg-shaped tanks for the Mourvèdre grapes have added a touch of freshness. A bit more body in the wines would allow the estate to compete in a higher tier.
Decanter
Wine rated (2024 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
It is open and inviting, with a fragrant, fruity nose. The aromas and texture are reminiscent of crushed petals: floral, delicate, and very soft. Its character is lively and vibrant, with plenty of red berries and raspberry coulis. Elegant yet approachable, it is easy to appreciate and savor in all its subtlety.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated wine (2026 guide): 2 stars (Outstanding wine)
Rated estate Award-winning wines (This producer's wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the wine:
All the freshness of the appellation is captured in this invigorating, elegant red, expertly crafted to deliver a distinctive palette of licorice, mint, and fruit (blackcurrant and cherry). More spicy notes weave their way into an airy, soft, and smooth palate, carried by barely perceptible tannins. With its immaculate freshness, it is a fine ambassador for the appellation.
About the estate:
The son of teachers and a winemaking engineer, Alain Chabanon acquired vineyards in 1992 in Montpeyroux and the surrounding villages. He built his winery in the middle of his vineyard (17 hectares), which is cultivated using organic methods (certified in 2002) and biodynamic practices (2011).
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2025 guide) 91/100
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
The juicy, fresh Campredon offers notes of zan and anise, along with a hint of pepper.
About the estate:
Alain Chabanon settled in 1992 on the outskirts of Montpeyroux after learning his craft under Alain Brumont in Madiran and Count Peraldi on the Isle of Beauty. A dedicated and inspired winemaker, he quickly distinguished himself through hard work in the vineyard and bold decisions regarding viticultural practices, blends, and aging. Patience is key for these unvarnished, highly tactile wines, which are aged in stainless steel, concrete eggs, or large oak casks and bottled late after they have mellowed. The overall impression is balanced and precise, with exemplary management of terroir expression and ripeness. We applaud the work done and the distinct personality of each wine.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 17/20
About the wine:
Remarkably clear for an MSG blend, and remarkably fragrant as well. No overripeness or over-extraction here! It is beautifully composed, playing the softness card with great care, and dancing gracefully with tannins scented with tea leaves. Cinnamon, red plum, cooked strawberry, dried cherry dusted with rosemary and sage. Nothing flashy here, just a wine that speaks of its terroir.
James Suckling

A fruity, juicy, and full-bodied blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Grenache. On the nose, aromas of cherries, red berries, and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins, this wine offers a delicate texture, a pleasant cherry character, and a savory, peppery finish. Made from biodynamically grown grapes certified by Demeter. A good bottle, though perhaps lacking in body; its development remains to be seen

A step above the previous vintage, the unique charm of this cuvée shines even brighter in 2022 thanks to its smooth, luminous profile, which highlights the aromatic power of fresh red fruits (particularly raspberry), intertwined with hints of spice and a floral touch. The tight, dusty tannins and the rich, indulgent roundness are supported by a pronounced graphite freshness that heightens the intensity of the finish. Pairs well with skewers of duck marinated in red pepper and cooked over the embers of a barbecue. The price is skyrocketing. Rating = 4.1.
