"Remarkable density and balance!"

This southern-style wine offers a beautifully concentrated nose of black and candied fruits, underscored by spicy notes. A red wine of absolute harmony, combining intensity, fruitiness, and freshness, despite its sanguine character and power.

A less sunny vintage, very smooth on the palate with notes of cocoa and licorice. This wine will not age well, but it is consistent with the quality of the estate.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 03/31/2025

The result of long and meticulous aging in barrels and vats, the Obriers deliver a 2021 vintage that is as powerful and deep as ever, but with a more pronounced freshness than in 2020. Its impressively dense texture, somewhere between silk and velvet, and its subtle aromatic complexity abound on the palate, which is smooth and generously infused with ripe plums and black cherries, complemented by warm spice flavors, subtle notes of dried herbs, and a hint of cocoa. A sensation of softness and delicacy lingers in a beautiful finish crowned with fragrances. The elegant, northern profile of Les Obriers makes it a perfect companion for autumn cuisine, including a beautifully simmered game dish or an omelet with black truffles from the Cévennes. Rating = 4.1.
