Dominated by botrytis notes. Oaky with hints of milk and milk caramel. Full-bodied and smooth. The finish strikes a balance between acidity and sweetness. Overall, it is easy to drink and harmonious.

About the estate:
Roger-François Béguinot, who made his fortune in the baby food industry, and his wife fell in love with Château Soucherie in 2007. This 28-hectare estate is ideally situated on a south-facing schist hillside between Beaulieu and Rochefort, within the Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, and Chaume appellations.

I'm a huge fan of white wines from the Loire Valley—perhaps more specifically from the Montlouis area—but I was a little disappointed by this Layon, which I found to be overly sweet at the expense of acidity. I "forgot" about two or three bottles of it in my cellar. Worth revisiting
