Le Roc des Anges

Le Roc des Anges, located in Montner, was created in 2001 by Marjorie and Stéphane Gallet, who also own the Les Terres de Fagayra estate in Maury. The name comes from a Carignan vine planted on a vein of quartz. A hillside with white soil, surrounded by black schist: the place is called "Roc Blanc" (White Rock). Angels were chosen to symbolize this vein of quartz, and Roc Blanc became Le Roc des Anges.

The 25-hectare vineyard of Le Roc des Anges is mainly planted with Mediterranean grape varieties grown at low yields (17 hl/ha on average). It is planted on shallow, well-drained schist soils, which encourage deep rooting. The work is carried out in harmony with the terroir: the entire vineyard is organically farmed. In 2011, biodynamic cultivation was introduced.

The work in the cellar is a continuation of the work carried out in the vineyard. Simplicity is the rule. The wines are matured in a controlled manner and many of Roc des Anges' wines are matured in concrete vats so that they can breathe and the fruit is preserved.
