A rich, robust wine that asserts its character with a sumptuous purple hue. It has an expressive nose of ripe stone fruits: cherry, peach, apricot, and plum. On the palate, it is full-bodied and captivates with its richness and the finesse of its tannins. The fruit is the star of this cuvée—generous and well-balanced!

About the estate:
Winegrowers in Juliénas since the early 17th century, the Perrachons purchased Château de la Bottière in 1877, followed by Domaine des Perelles in Romanèche-Thorins (a windmill). Upon taking over in 1989, Laurent Perrachon acquired the Domaine des Mouilles, followed by plots in Morgon, Fleurie, and Saint-Amour: a total of 31 hectares, with vineyards across six crus. With Maxime and Adrien, the new generation joined the estate in 2016.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 89/100 (2021 vintage)
Rated estate (2022 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)
About the wine:
Ripe and juicy, this wine is fresh and bursting with black fruit. The acidity and juicy fruit are balanced by a core of fine tannins that will allow the wine to age. Best enjoyed starting in 2024.
James Suckling
Wine rated (2023 guide) 90/100 (2021 vintage)
Rated estate (2020 guide) Recommended
About the wine:
With its substantial structure and ripe black cherry fruit, this Morgon makes a bold statement. Some may find it too tannic compared to what they expect from a Beaujolais, but it simply needs a little more time in the bottle for the tannins to integrate. Good length. Ready to drink now, but best enjoyed starting in 2024.
