Roger Belland - Meursault-Santenots 1er Cru 2009

Rating: RVF 16/20
This lovely Meursault opens with aromas of white flowers and toasted almonds, releasing a very powerful fragrance. The palate is full-bodied and generous, finely balanced by well-placed acidity and subtle oak. An elegant and refined wine not to be missed!

About the estate:

An old estate, with records dating back to the 18th century, now covering 24 hectares. At its helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981, his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and is in charge of winemaking, and their new colleague Martin Boyer. No certified organic status here, but sustainable and controlled viticulture (total grass cover in the vineyard, no weedkillers), and wines of great consistency.
