Domaine de la Croix Senaillet - Saint Véran Les Rochats 2022
1*Étoile
Hachette
92/100
Vinous
“This Hachette-starred wine is made from a plot of Chardonnay vines that are about fifty years old: notes of flowers, acacia honey, and white peach blend together beautifully.”
“The 2022 Saint-Véran Les Rochats comes from pinker limestone soils. It retains the lovely bouquet I found last year: yellow plum, hints of honeycomb—somewhat more subdued than the Les Buis cuvée, but with far greater complexity. The palate is lively and crisp on the attack, with richness effortlessly balanced by silvery acidity, leading to a lively and vibrant finish. Recommended. 2026–2040” (Vinous 2024)

About the wine:
This wine captivates with its delicate bouquet (mineral notes, white flowers, fresh honey) and its full-bodied, rich palate, balanced by just the right amount of freshness. 2024–2028
About the estate:
Domaine de la Croix Senaillet was founded in 1969 by Maurice Martin, who gradually shifted from mixed farming to viticulture. In 1990, his son Richard took over the family estate, and was joined by his brother Stéphane in 1992. The property, which originally covered 6.5 hectares, has expanded to 25 hectares today, spread across 52 plots that have been certified organic since 2010. Building on their experience, in 2015 the brothers acquired Dom. de Mont Épin in Clessé (13 hectares).
