"Transcends the appellation
"The Saint-Romain Sous Roche 2022 presents an airy bouquet of raspberry and cranberry with hints of undergrowth that reveal themselves with aeration. The palate has a certain chewy attack, the tannins here being a little softer than those of the Beaune reds, with a hint of white pepper on the finish. Give it a year in bottle. (Vinous 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Frédérick and Franck Buisson, whose family presence in the village dates back to the 12th century, represent the eighth generation of winemakers at this historic Saint-Romain estate. Ecocert-certified since 2012, they develop the most natural viticulture and oenology. The red wines, which still contain some whole bunches, offer a precise vision of their terroir that argues for the rediscovery of a Saint-Romain we haven't often seen at this level. The precise whites are not to be outdone.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Frédéric, winemaker, and Franck, salesman, manage one of the largest estates in the southern Côte de Beaune. Certified organic since 2009, they will be switching to biodynamic viticulture in 2018. For ten years, they had already been following the lunar calendar for their bottling. Serious work in the vineyard and cellar enables them to produce deep, racy wines that age well. This is an estate that perfectly enhances the Saint-Romain appellation in both red and white, with fine, precise and elegant wines. A range of wines that richly deserves its first star.
