Rated estate (2020 guide): 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
Sparkling like his crémants, energetic like his whites, approachable like his reds, and generous like his yellow wines, Stéphane Tissot is undoubtedly the driving force behind the Jura wine region. Taking over the family estate in 1993 alongside his wife, Bénédicte, he has succeeded in revealing the full richness of the Jura’s terroirs through exceptional single-vineyard wines. The variety of his portfolio is matched only by the quality and purity of the wines, as well as the winemaker’s meticulous craftsmanship and tireless experimentation. High-density stake-trained vines, mass selection, aging in amphorae, extended macerations, and sulfur-free wines are just some of the strings Stéphane Tissot has added to his bow. Some fifty hectares of vineyards, cultivated biodynamically, make up one of the region’s most exciting estates.

Wine rated (2016 guide) 18/20 (Great wine)
Rated estate (2020 guide): 3* Stars (These represent the pinnacle of French winemaking. The finest terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical experience.)
About the wine:
La Vasée offers marine notes (seaweed, glasswort) and an unusual, lively vibrancy, shaped by the vintage’s elegant and refined profile: one can only dream of tasting it again in 10 to 15 years.
About the estate:
What an incredible journey Stéphane Tissot has been on since 1990! The vineyard’s transition to organic farming began in 1999, and today it is cultivated biodynamically. Regardless of the type of wine, everything is managed with talent and sensitivity, and the flavors are of perfect integrity. The Macvin wines are the finest in the region. The rustic character often imparted by grape pomace is wonderfully integrated here! The reds and oxidative wines have acquired an unforgettable finesse and freedom of expression. The meticulous craftsmanship and the kaleidoscopic depth of the lineup unquestionably place the estate at the pinnacle of regional winemaking.
