“Opening with notes of strawberry and sweet spices, Ze Rozé 2021 makes a lively impression. ” (Le Guide RVF 2023) Ze Rosé remains true to itself, a wine full of character despite its pale pink hue, based on a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignan. As always, it is a wine with great elegance and freshness on the palate. A wine synonymous with pleasure, without a doubt!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2026 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Julien Zernott and Delphine Rousseau acquired this vineyard in 2002; it is laid out in terraces surrounded by dry stone walls. Perched at an altitude of 350 meters across some twenty hectares at the foot of the Larzac plateau, the vines are cultivated organically, bathed in a cool, windy microclimate and benefiting from the limestone scree terroir of the Causse and the area’s rich biodiversity. The common thread here is freshness, made possible by the vineyard’s altitude; it is found in every cuvée, without exception, making this an exceptional estate among the terraces of Larzac that strikes the perfect balance between freshness and structure. This estate is a sure bet and a must-visit; we have no regrets about the third star recently awarded and see constant improvements even in the entry-level wines.

Rated estate (2025 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the estate:
Located in the northwest of the Terrasses du Larzac, in the beautiful region of Pégairolles de l'Escale and Lauroux, this 20-hectare estate is owned by Julien and Delphine Zernott, who have been based here since 2003. The vineyard comprises some fifty terraces on limestone scree, with a high proportion of very old vines. This terroir is in good hands with this talented and determined couple. While the whites confirm their great elegance, the entire range of reds presented this year is of the highest caliber—graceful, with exemplary management of texture and aging.

Beautiful salmon-pink color. A classic Southern French rosé hue. Nose: subtle, with red fruit and a hint of spice. On the palate: crisp red fruit, berries, wild raspberries, a touch of winegums, followed by spice, green herbs, and a hint of grassiness. Fine acidity throughout, providing structure and tension. Also very interesting in terms of texture and depth. Not just any old patio rosé. A serious rosé: “ze rosé”…hilarious. Delicious with light salads featuring grilled or pan-seared jumbo shrimp or other shellfish. Score: 15.5/20

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Published on October 10, 2022
Although full-bodied and voluminous thanks to the abundance of Carignan, the palate is fresh and light, carried by a hint of minerality and floral notes. It is equally delightful and graceful with its flavors of crushed strawberries, derived from a well-balanced proportion of Cinsault. The tannic and highly aromatic profile lingers through the finish. Having matured over the years, Ze Rosé has now established itself as a rosé with character, fully reflecting the identity of the Languedoc—a far cry from the so-called “swimming pool” rosé. Rated 4, but watch out for the price, which has an unfortunate tendency to rise. Serve at 11°C with Catalan-style calamari and a pinch of Espelette pepper.
