Clos Centeilles
Clos Centeilles, nestled in the foothills of the Montagne Noire in Siran, is an estate run by the exciting and passionate winemaker Patricia Boyer-Domergue, who now shares her heritage with her daughter Cécile. Currently in the process of handing over the reins, mother and daughter produce wines that are off the beaten track, precise and steeped in history, imbued with a unique emotion.

Patricia Boyer-Domergue bought Clos Centeilles in Siran in 1990 with a clear vision: to save the Languedoc wine heritage. In 1995, she began reintroducing forgotten grape varieties from the region, indigenous varieties that she wanted to save from oblivion. The result of a long-term effort that went against the grain, the 12-hectare estate now includes 23 different grape varieties, creating impressive diversity and originality. Clos Centeilles is located within the boundaries of the Minervois appellation, including the La Livinière cru. The traditional grape varieties of the region are Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache noir and blanc, Clairette blanc, and Carignan noir. However, there are also rarer and sometimes forgotten varieties such as Riveyrenc blanc and gris, Riveyrenc noir and verdal, Araignan blanc, Clairette rose, Picpoul gris and noir, Terret gris, Grenache gris, Lledoner Pelut, Aramon gris, Carignan gris, Œillade noire, and Morrastel noir à jus blanc. Patricia Boyer-Domergue makes it a point of honor to express what she considers to be the region's greatest grape variety, which she regards as the Pinot Noir of Languedoc: Cinsault.

The wines are characterized by this originality, thanks to well-mastered blends. The vineyard is managed in harmony with nature, certified HVE (High Environmental Value), worked entirely by hand, and the work in the cellar is designed to be non-interventionist, with no barrel aging in order to fully respect the expression of the Centeilles terroir and its old grape varieties. Discovering these 14 vintages is like entering a world apart with its own signature, a palette of authentic flavors, taking you on a journey to the Languedoc of yesteryear, where the diversity of grape varieties created a unique identity and perfect balance.
