Niepoort

In 1842, Franciscus Marius van der Niepoort, a native of Holland, settled in Portugal to found Niepoort, a producer of Port wines. Striking a balance between centuries-old tradition and innovation, five generations ofthe Niepoort family havesincesucceeded one another, bringing their expertise and dedication to this estate in the Douro Valley. 

Niepoort began as an undisputed specialist in Port wines. It was not until 1991 that Dirk Niepoort, a fifth-generation member of the family, created the first Redoma vintage, following the 1987 acquisition of his first vineyard in the Douro Valley.
