Domaine du Mas Blanc - Banyuls Vintage 1966

Domaine du Mas Blanc - Banyuls Millésimé 1966

Made from old vines and aged through a complex process in casks, vats, and barrels, the Banyuls collections from Domaine du Mas Blanc are complex, concentrated natural sweet wines that embody a perfect balance of maturity and youthfulness. Very few wines stand the test of time in this way. For purists or collectors, they also make a wonderful gift!

Rated 2** stars (Successful production)

About the estate:

Dr. Parcé had undeniably left his mark on the estate and the Banyuls appellation as a whole, which is rooted in its magnificent schist terroirs. As for the Collioures—that is, the dry wines produced in the same geographical area—they have so far provided a good indication of this terroir and its potential. The challenge is great for Jean-Michel Parcé, the son, to maintain this high standard of quality.

Rated estate (2011 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

Le Mas Blanc boasts the largest vineyards in Banyuls. It has been owned by the same family since 1639—the Parcé family, led by Dr. Parcé, a prominent local figure who passed away in 1998 and who played a leading role in the estate for many years.
