"The estate's oldest Chenin once again delivers a memorable tasting: a vintage cited as incredible, wonderful, brilliant."
"The Mev. Kirsten 2024 comes from Cape Town's oldest Chenin vineyard, originally planted in 1905, with every other row uprooted in 1946. Anecdote: this was the first vineyard in South Africa to be ploughed by tractor. The bouquet is fragrant, with notes of sea spray, light lanolin and crushed chalk. The palate is beautifully structured with a wonderful texture, perfectly balanced, laser-precise, with a deft touch of lemongrass on the extended finish. Brilliant. 2027-2049" (Vinous 2025)

About the wine:
On the nose, this full-bodied white wine reveals pronounced aromas of spiced pear, mango pit, honey, papaya and honeysuckle. Creamy, rich and delicious, it offers incredible generosity and volume, tempered by fresh acidity. Excellent balance. Hard not to drink. Chenin Blanc from a vineyard planted in 1905. For drinking or cellaring.
