"According to Sadie, this is one of the best wines they've produced on this site: extraordinary terroir making the cuvée saline with sea spray flavors!"
"Skerpioen 2024 is a blend of Chenin Blanc and Palomino from limestone soils near the coast. The grapes were harvested early this year. "The wine was much fuller than I expected, and it's one of the best wines we've made on this site," according to Sadie. The Chenin part is more present than the Palomino at the moment, with aromas of sea spray and shucked oyster shells revealing themselves on the nose. The palate is fresh and vibrant, very saline, certainly heavily influenced by the marine environment, with the Palomino finally finding its voice on the finish. Superb. 2027-2042" (Vinous 2025)
