"According to Sadie, this is one of the best wines they have produced on this site: an extraordinary terroir that gives the cuvée a salty taste reminiscent of sea spray!"
"The Skerpioen 2024 is a blend of Chenin Blanc and Palomino from limestone soils near the coast. The grapes were harvested early this year. "The wine was much fuller than I expected and is one of the best wines we have produced on this site," according to Sadie. The Chenin component is more prominent than the Palomino at the moment, with aromas of sea spray and shelled oyster shells revealing themselves on the nose. The palate is fresh and vibrant, very saline, certainly influenced by the marine environment, with the Palomino finally finding its voice on the finish. Superb. 2027-2042" (Vinous 2025)
