(2017 Vintage Notes)

A lovely white wine made from red-skinned Sylvaner grapes—so named for their colored skin, which yields more flavorful and spicy berries. The delicate nose opens with notes of white flowers. The palate is lively, offering a beautiful texture with fruit and citrus notes. The finish is clean and briny. This is a Sylvaner brimming with elegance!

Rated wine (2019 guide) 14/20 (2017 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide): 4 stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

Céline and Isabelle Meyer manage the estate—long led by their father Jean—with courage and discipline. Their biodynamic wines shine with their light, refined, fresh, and crisp profiles. The estate’s two flagship grands crus are the Hengst and the Brand, where the Riesling truly shines. Pinot Gris is part of a long tradition of dry wine, which is, unfortunately, not so common in Alsace.
