Domaine Josmeyer

Domaine Josmeyer is located in Wintzenheim, a wine-growing village near Colmar. Covering an area of 28 hectares (28% Riesling, 24% Pinot Blanc & Auxerrois, 21% Pinot Gris, 19% Gewurztraminer, and 10% Sylvaner, Muscat, and Pinot Noir), the Domaine Josmeyer vineyard has always been managed sustainably and with respect for nature, and benefits from an exceptional microclimate and one of the lowest rainfall levels in France.

In the late 1990s, with a commitment to excellence and under the leadership of Christophe Ehrhart, the Domaine Josmeyer vineyard was converted to organic and biodynamic farming. Since 2004, all wines have been certified with the AB logo (organic farming). This alternative approach—more demanding and costly than conventional or sustainable viticulture—fosters a greater harmony between the sky, the earth, the plant, and the human. This close relationship between these four elements yields noble grapes, which in turn give rise to a dense, balanced wine with a unique character.
