"A vintage from century-old vines, distinguished for its elegance. The nose evokes fresh and candied cherries; the palate is fleshy, full, rich, and finishes with spicy tannins. The aging in wood (twelve months in barrels then three months in casks) is hardly noticeable, with the tannins remaining supple. A complete wine, to be enjoyed from 2013 onwards." About wine:
The Bottière-Pavillon (Depardon family) should not be confused with the Bottière des Perrachon, which presents a cuvée from century-old vines, distinguished for its elegance. The nose evokes fresh and candied cherries; the palate is fleshy, full, rich, and finishes with spicy tannins. The oak aging (twelve months in barrels then three months in casks) is hardly noticeable, with the tannins remaining supple. A complete wine, to be enjoyed from 2013 onwards.
About the estate:
Winegrowers in Juliénas since the early 17th century, the Perrachons purchased Ch. de la Bottière in 1877, followed by Dom. des Perelles in Romanèche-Thorins (windmill). When he took over in 1989, Laurent Perrachon acquired Domaine des Mouilles, then plots in Morgon, Fleurie, and Saint-Amour: a total of 31 hectares, with vines in six crus. With Maxime and Adrien, the new generation joined the estate in 2016.

I tasted this Juliénas yesterday, on the spur of the moment, with pike quenelles in Nantua sauce. While it wasn't a perfect pairing, it was very promising. Excellent now, I think this wine will be at its peak in one to two years. A very good Juliénas and excellent value for money!
