The Moulin-à-Vent from Domaine des Perelles showcases the rich character of this flagship Beaujolais appellation. This wine exudes notes of red fruit, along with very delicate floral hints. A full-bodied, structured, and indulgent red with silky-smooth tannins on the palate. Pure delight!

About the estate:
Winegrowers in Juliénas since the early 17th century, the Perrachons purchased Château de la Bottière in 1877, followed by Domaine des Perelles in Romanèche-Thorins (a windmill). Upon settling there in 1989, Laurent Perrachon acquired Domaine des Mouilles, followed by plots in Morgon, Fleurie, and Saint-Amour: a total of 31 hectares, with vineyards across six crus. With Maxime and Adrien, the new generation joined the estate in 2016.

Appearance: a deep garnet color; nose: aromas of red fruits reminiscent of wild berries from the woodlands of southeastern France. Powerful on the palate, with a tendency to "lean toward Pinot" due to the presence of ripe fruit aromas reminiscent of Burgundy. In short, an elegant wine that should be cellared to allow it to improve with age. 2013: A respectable vintage. R.B

I’m not going to use wine-tasting jargon—I’m far from an expert on the intricacies of it. Suffice it to say that when it comes to the pleasure principle—the only thing that really matters in the end—I had a blast.
