Here, a Charmes “plain and simple” hails from a beautiful 1.15-hectare plot that offers a bouquet of ripe black fruits accented by a hint of pepper. The fruit is accompanied by subtle oak notes on a full-bodied, well-structured palate.
About the estate:
A historic estate, first documented in the 18th century, that today spans 24 hectares. At the helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981; his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and oversees winemaking; and their new colleague, Martin Boyer. While not certified organic, the estate practices sustainable and carefully managed viticulture (full grass cover in the vineyard, no herbicides) and produces wines of great consistency.
