"Deep, creamy, fresh, and well-structured, according to Jancis Robinson, this Santenay is complex and delicious."

“The wine has a pale lemon-yellow color. The nose offers a lovely lemony freshness and tart aromas of lemon zest, grapefruit, and green apple, combined with hints of white peach and apricot, as well as a subtle touch of vanilla, lightly toasted hazelnut, fresh butter, and acacia, which emerge on the second nose. The palate is rich and balanced, with a juicy attack featuring fleshy stone fruits (white peach, apricot) and a lemony, slightly bitter finish (with notes of ripe lemon, lemon cream, and lemon zest). On the mid-palate, toasted, vanilla, and buttery notes emerge, along with a subtle hint of toasted oak. The texture on the palate is oily and pleasing, balanced by a nice bit of bitterness and refreshing acidity. Good length.” (Vert de Vin 2024)

About the estate:

An historic estate, first documented in the 18th century, now covering 24 hectares. At the helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981; his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and is in charge of winemaking; and their new colleague, Martin Boyer. While the estate is not certified organic, it practices sustainable and carefully managed viticulture (full grass cover in the vineyard, no herbicides) and produces wines of great consistency.

A truly beautiful Santenay! I've never been disappointed by this winery.
