Like many Chardonnays from the Côte de Beaune in the 2007 vintage, this white Santenay "Comme-Dessus" displays lovely minerality and aromas of flint and white flowers. A wine with excellent aging potential, it is best enjoyed with seafood or trout with almonds...

About the estate:

An historic estate, first mentioned in the 18th century, now covering 24 hectares. At the helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981; his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and oversees winemaking; and their new partner, Martin Boyer. No certified organic production here, but sustainable and carefully managed viticulture (full grass cover in the vineyard, no herbicides), and wines of great consistency.
