La Tulipe Rouge
"100% Savagnin well representative of its terroir".
"Côtes du Jura Savagnier 2022 is a toasted Savagnin from vines planted in the village of Lavigny on marl soils in the 1990s. It was fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged exclusively in stainless steel for 10 months. It is fresh and varietal, with 13.5% alcohol. It has purity of aroma and is stony and slightly reductive, with a hint of flint, nicely textured with fine thread, integrated acidity and a dry, chalky finish. 6,000 bottles were filled in July 2023." Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
The estate dominates the whole of Château-Chalon, perched on its rocky outcrop at an altitude of 450 metres. Jean handed over the reins to his daughter Hélène, who took over from him after a first life as a translator in Brussels, and ensures the smooth running of the 15-hectare estate. Certified organic since 2013, the wines are among the vineyard's success stories, particularly the sailing wines, the estate's great specialty. The yellow wines (4.5 hectares of Château-Chalon) are matured in magnificent vaulted cellars.

About the domain :
Domaine created in 1985 by Jean Berthet-Bondet, former mayor of Château-Chalon and an agricultural engineer, like his wife. Conducted according to the rules of organic farming, the 13 ha of vines and vaulted cellars have been managed since 2018 by their daughter Hélène.

Domaine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Chantal and Jean Berthet-Bondet, both agricultural engineers, left the city in 1985 to create this 11-hectare estate, located equally in the Château-Chalon appellation and Côtes du Jura, and certified organic since 2013. Jean's daughter Hélène is now at the helm. Quality is progressing in the direction of fruit expression and purity. New cuvées and wine labels have been cleverly redefined, even if the cuvées matured under sail remain the undisputed stars of the domaine, with a Château-Chalon that can serve as a model for the prestigious appellation.
Vinous
Wine rated (2024 guide) 89/100
About the wine:
Côtes du Jura Savagnier 2022 takes its name from a dedicated plot of vines. Aged for a year in stainless steel tanks, the 2022 shows reducing accents as well as wet stones and lemon flesh. Medium-bodied and concentrated, the ripeness of the vintage is carefully counterbalanced by the sharp acidity of the Savagnier. A saline finish brings the whole to a close.
La Tulipe Rouge
Wine rated (2024 guide) 89/100
About the wine:
Citrus fruits, pear and apple pips for this lovely Savagnin, with its delicate pastry notes and fresh, playful finish.
