Les Vins de la Madone
In the young Côtes du Forez appellation, which was created in 2000, Gilles Bonnefoy established the estate. Les Vins de la Madonein 1997, based in Champdieu, south of the Loire Valley. He began by renting a few plots of old vines, then acquired 4 hectares of fallow land on different terroirs. In 2001, he quickly turned his attention to organic viticulture. Wanting to go even further in his natural and environmentally friendly approach, in 2004 he began experimenting with biodynamics, leading to Demeter certification in 2009, with the introduction of green manure, plant decoctions, and biodynamic preparations.

Today, the Les Vins de la Madone estate covers 11 hectares of vineyards, mainly located around the Madone volcano, on volcanic and clay-granite terroirs. Each plot is vinified separately. The rather eclectic range includes two IGP d'Urfé white wines, six red wines expressing different terroirs, a rosé wine, and two original sparkling wines. A delightful discovery, with distinctive wines and new expressions of Gamay that will appeal to all Gamay aficionados.
