Madone Wines
In this young Côtes du Forez appellation, established in 2000, Gilles Bonnefoy founded the winery Madone Wines, in 1997, based in Champdieu, south of the Loire Valley. He began by renting a few plots of old vines, then acquired 4 hectares of fallow land across various terroirs. By 2001, he had already shifted toward organic viticulture. Wishing to go even further in a natural and environmentally friendly approach, he began exploring biodynamics in 2004, leading to Demeter certification in 2009, with the implementation of green manure crops, plant decoctions, and biodynamic preparations.

Today, the Les Vins de la Madone estate spans 11 hectares of vineyards, mostly located around the Madone volcano, on volcanic and clay-granite soils. Each plot is vinified separately. The fairly eclectic range includes two white wines with the Urfé IGP designation, six red wines showcasing different terroirs, a rosé, and two unique sparkling wines. A delightful discovery, featuring distinctive wines and new expressions of Gamay that will appeal to all Gamay aficionados.
