Tain Winery
Founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche, the Cave de Tain is located between Valence and Lyon, at the foot of Hermitage Hill. At the heart of the historic Northern Côtes du Rhône wine region, it now has approximately 300 members and produces and markets all of the Northern Rhône appellations, making it the leading producer of wines from the northern Rhône Valley.

On the granitic and alluvial soils of both banks of the Rhône—the result of a complex and highly varied geological evolution (granite and moraines)—the grape varieties give their very best: Syrah for red wines and Marsanne for white wines. In addition to the vineyards owned by its winemakers—some of whom have been in the business for four generations— Cave de Tain itself owns vineyards in the Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, and Saint-Péray appellations, and, most notably, 22 hectares in the prestigious Hermitage appellation.

Alongside extensive work mapping terroirs and observing nature, the Cave de Tain invests regularly and now possesses technical resources worthy of the greatest names in France. This enables the production of wines of remarkable quality. The Cave de Tain innovates with sulfite-free cuvées, Organic, and sweet wines... And it is proud to produce a range of wines that enable the creation of exceptional vintages such as the single-vineyard selections “Les Hauts du Fief” in Crozes-Hermitage or “Fleur de Roc” in Saint-Péray.
