Château Pesquié
A family-owned estate for three generations, the Château Pesquié was founded in the 1970s by Odette and René Bastide, descendants of the famous writer Alphonse Daudet. Their daughter Edith and her husband Paul Chaudière took over in the 1980s, driven by a desire to produce their own wines; they left the cooperative and began selecting different terroirs: clay-limestone, clay, sand, and blue marl. Today, their sons Frédéric and Alexandre Chaudière are at the helm of this 100-hectare vineyard.
Since 2018, the entire Château Pesquié vineyard has been cultivated using organic methods. Located at the foot of Mont Ventoux, the estate benefits from a microclimate, with the vines situated at an altitude of between 250 and 300 meters, lending the wines a refreshing character. The wines’ style is centered on single-vineyard selections, particularly for the top red vintages: Artémia, Silica, and Ascencio. Château Pesquié continues to rise in prominence and is now recognized as a true showcase of the Ventoux appellation’s potential. A winery worth discovering.
