“Discover the red wines of the Côtes du Roussillon”

"The Initium vintage is a 'wine with aging potential, featuring a deep color and fresh aromas of eucalyptus and morello cherry. This freshness also comes through on the palate, which is firm and robust, structured by tannins that are still quite firm. This is a wine to cellar.'" (Le Guide Hachette 2024)

Guide Hachette des vins

Wine noted (guide 2024) 1*Star (Very successful wine)

Rated estate (2023 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the wine:

A wine with aging potential and a deep color, opening with fresh aromas of eucalyptus and morello cherry. This freshness carries through to the palate, which is firm and robust, structured by tannins that are still quite firm. Best cellared.

About the estate:

The estate’s origins, spanning six generations, date back to 1864. The property boasts a 25-hectare vineyard spread across diverse terroirs. At the helm since 1989, Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been producing wines with strong character for nearly 30 years, including both dry and naturally sweet wines. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young couple of winemakers, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.
