“New vintage”

“Integrity sets the tone for this Grenache-dominated red with its expressive fruit. Still wrapped in its sap-filled tannic shell, it draws its tension from a minty freshness on the finish. This livelier finish elevates the wine as a whole.” (La Revue du Vin de France – June 2020) Late-harvested grapes that bring fruitiness and concentration.

About the estate:

The estate’s origins, spanning six generations, date back to 1864. The property boasts a 25-hectare vineyard spread across diverse terroirs. At the helm since 1989, Pierre and Marie-Claude Fontaneil have been producing wines with strong character for nearly 30 years, including both dry and naturally sweet wines. In 2017, they sold the estate to a young couple of winemakers, Élodie and Matthieu Collet.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)

About the wine:

Righteousness sets the tone for this Grenache-dominated red, with its expressive fruit. Still wrapped in its sap-filled tannic shell, it draws its tension from a minty freshness on the finish. This livelier finish lifts the entire wine.

Round and velvety. However, the Grenache-Carignan blend is more typical of this terroir (and I prefer it). 15/20

A very good product, but I gave it a 3 out of 5 due to its questionable value for money.
