"According to Sadie, this is one of the best wines they've produced at this vineyard: an extraordinary terroir that gives the wine a salty, sea-spray flavor!"

“The Skerpioen 2024 is a blend of Chenin Blanc and Palomino grown on limestone soils near the coast. The grapes were harvested early this year. “The wine was much fuller-bodied than I expected, and it’s one of the best wines we’ve produced at this site,” according to Sadie. The Chenin component is more prominent than the Palomino at the moment, with aromas of sea spray and shelled oyster shells unfolding on the nose. The palate is fresh and vibrant, very briny, clearly influenced by the marine environment, with the Palomino finally finding its voice on the finish. Superb. 2027–2042” (Vinous 2025)

About the wine:

The Skerpioen 2024 is a blend of Chenin Blanc and Palomino grown on limestone soils near the coast. The palate is fresh and vibrant, very briny—undoubtedly heavily influenced by the marine environment—with the Palomino finally finding its voice on the finish. Superb. 2027–2042

About the wine:

On the nose, aromas of fresh apricots, salted olives, shellfish, lemon cream, and sage, as well as salted almonds. It is creamy, textured, and medium-bodied to full-bodied, with a briny freshness. Long and delicious. A blend of Chenin Blanc and Palomino. Ready to drink or for aging.
