"This new vintage of Pofadder is the fruitiest Eben Sadie has ever tasted, and Vinous has rated it as excellent—a real treat."

“It will captivate you with its aromas of pepper, citrus zest, rosemary, red cherries, and red currants. It is extremely fresh and silky, with medium body and fine, harmonious tannins. Elegant, yet with tension and texture. 100% Cinsault. Ready to drink or for aging. ” (James Suckling 2025)

About the wine:

“The 2024 Pofadder is the fruitiest I’ve ever seen,” notes Eben Sadie. “Many people harvest early to achieve a Burgundian style, but this terroir allows the wine to reach full maturity with 13% alcohol. The schist soil is very important for this, as the vines struggle a bit here.” It has a crystalline bouquet with mineral aromas of red fruit and bergamot that burst from the glass unrestrainedly. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a soft mouthfeel, and a powdery texture, with a mineral/stony finish that lends it a slight fragility. This Pofadder offers great transparency. Excellent. 2027–2045
