Rating: Bettane & Desseauve 16/20, Robert Parker 88/100
The estate owns one of the finest vineyards in Beaune 1er Cru. The "Beaune du Château," a historic wine from Château de Beaune, is the result of a blend of several separately vinified plots, allowing the various facets of the Beaune terroir to come together in a single wine and fully express its personality—delicately fragrant, with notes of red fruit and spices...

Rated estate (2023 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune-based wine merchant, founded in 1731, owns more than 142 plots across 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage allows Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with the majority of production coming from purchased grapes for the grand crus and from carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.
