"So charming!"

Located between Volnay and Meursault, the village of Monthélie is far less well-known than its illustrious neighbors. Yet the first records of vineyards in this terroir date back to the 9th century. It’s no wonder that this Premier Cru is so highly regarded and so coveted. With its lovely garnet color, the wine offers aromas of jammy red and black fruits. On the palate, it is pleasantly fruity and round.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune-based wine merchant, founded in 1731, owns more than 142 plots spanning 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage allows Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with the majority of production coming from purchased grapes for the grand reds and from carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.
