1er cru

"Full of charm!"

Located between Volnay and Meursault, the village of Monthélie is far less well known than its illustrious neighbors. Yet the first traces of vines on this terroir date back to the 9th century. No wonder this 1er cru is so highly prized and coveted. The wine's lovely garnet-red color reveals aromas of jammy red and black fruits. The palate is pleasantly fruity and round.

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

From Les Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune trading house, founded in 1731, owns over 142 parcels in 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru. This first-rate winegrowing heritage enables Fréderic Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds, and carefully selected musts for the non-domain whites. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.
