"According to James Suckling, this wine is the perfect example of how Burgundian greatness is expressed more gently, a great wine!"
"Consumers often expect a great Burgundy to be a spectacular, flashy wine. This wine is an ideal example of how Burgundian greatness is often expressed more gently. The harmony between red fruits and fine tannins, as well as the excellent concentration and very silky tannins of the medium-bodied palate make this a truly exceptional wine for the appellation. Delicious today, it needs time to reveal its delicately spicy mystery. From a 3.9-hectare plot in the middle of the Grèves 1er Cru hillside, where there is never any water stress. Organically grown grapes. For drinking or cellaring. (James Suckling 2024) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
From Les Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune trading house, founded in 1731, owns over 142 parcels in 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru. This first-rate winegrowing heritage enables Fréderic Weber, a talented winemaker who was previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce around 600,000 bottles out of the total three million produced here each year, with most of the production coming from purchased grapes for the great reds, and carefully selected musts for the non-domain whites. Impressive success in both white and red wines in recent vintages.

About the wine:
It's perhaps a little simplistic, but that's how it is in Burgundy, where many estates and houses are embodied in a wine, as in the case of "L'Enfant Jésus de la maison Bouchard Père et Fils". This 3.92-hectare parcel, which surrounds a beautiful cabotte, produces magical, long-keeping wines. This 2022 is no exception, with its intense color, rich, complex, elegant aromas of raspberry, spice box, flowers... The wine is voluptuous, rich, sensual, with "sweet, refined" tannins, fleshy fruit, great length and class.

About the wine:
The Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus 2022 is charming, with aromas of blackberry, spices, violets and rose petals wafting from the glass. Medium-bodied, broad and enveloping, with a fleshy attack that evolves into a refined, mineral palate and a saline finish, this is a benchmark for the appellation.

About the wine:
Beaune Les Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jésus 1er Cru 2022 has a clean, fresh nose of maraschino cherry, candied orange peel and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied, with grainy tannins and a slightly powdery texture. The attractive, mocha-tinged finish lingers on the palate. This wine will drink well after 5-7 years. 2026-2046
