The harmony between red fruit and fine tannins, along with the excellent concentration and very silky tannins on the medium-bodied palate, make this a truly exceptional wine for the appellation. Delicious now, but it needs time to reveal its delicately spicy character. Sourced from a 3.9-hectare plot located in the middle of the Grèves 1er Cru hillside, where there is never any water stress. About the estate:

From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune wine merchant founded in 1731 owns more than 142 plots spanning 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate viticultural heritage enables Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker who previously managed Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million produced here each year; the majority of production comes from purchased grapes for the great reds and from carefully selected musts for the whites, other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.

This 2022 is no exception to the rule, with its intense color and rich, complex, elegant aromas of raspberries, a spice box, and flowers... The wine is voluptuous, rich, and sensual, with “sweet, refined” tannins, a fleshy fruitiness, great length, and class.
