"According to James Suckling, this wine is the perfect example of how Burgundian greatness can be expressed with greater finesse—a truly great wine!"
"Consumers often expect a great Burgundy to be a spectacular, showy wine. This wine is a perfect example of how Burgundian greatness is often expressed with greater subtlety. The harmony between red fruit and fine tannins, along with the excellent concentration and very silky tannins of the medium-bodied palate, make this a truly exceptional wine for the appellation. Delicious now, but it needs time to reveal its delicately spicy mystery. From a 3.9-hectare plot located in the middle of the Grèves 1er Cru hillside, where there is never any water stress. Grapes from organic farming. Drink now or cellar. Rated estate (2023 guide) 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune-based wine merchant, founded in 1731, owns more than 142 plots spanning 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate wine-growing heritage allows Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker previously in charge of Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year, with the majority of production coming from purchased grapes for the grand reds and from carefully selected musts for the whites other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both whites and reds in recent vintages.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 97/100 (Best Bottle)
About the wine:
It may be a bit simplistic, but that’s how it is in Burgundy: many estates and houses are embodied in a single wine, and so we speak of “the Enfant Jésus of the Bouchard Père et Fils estate.” This 3.92-hectare plot, which surrounds a beautiful cabotte, produces magical wines with exceptional aging potential. This 2022 is no exception to the rule, with its intense color and rich, complex, elegant aromas of raspberries, a spice box, and flowers... The wine is voluptuous, rich, and sensual, with "sweet, refined" tannins, a fleshy fruitiness, great length, and class.

About the wine:
The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves Vigne de l'Enfant Jésus is charming, with aromas of blackberry, spices, violet, and rose petals wafting from the glass. Medium-bodied, full-flavored, and enveloping, with a fleshy attack that evolves into a refined, mineral-driven palate and a salty finish, it is a benchmark for the appellation.

About the wine:
The 2022 Beaune Les Grèves Vigne de L'Enfant Jésus 1er Cru offers a clean, fresh nose of maraschino cherry, candied orange peel, and crushed stone. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with grainy tannins and a slightly powdery texture. The appealing finish, with hints of mocha, lingers on the palate. This wine will drink very well in 5 to 7 years. 2026–2046
