About the estate:
From Cazetiers to Bouzeron, this major Beaune wine merchant founded in 1731 owns more than 142 plots spanning 130 hectares of vineyards, including 73 hectares of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. This first-rate viticultural heritage enables Frédéric Weber, a talented winemaker who previously managed Château de Poncié, to produce approximately 600,000 bottles out of the total three million units produced here each year; the majority of production comes from purchased grapes for the great reds and from carefully selected musts for the whites, other than those from the estate. Impressive success with both white and red wines in recent vintages.

Surprisingly well-structured for a wine of this age, but I think it needs to be left in the cellar for another year or two to reach its full potential. For the price, it’s an excellent choice you won’t want to miss.

Opened the bottle the day before for lunch. The wine was completely corked! It tasted very, very acidic, even though you could detect some fruit! Too bad—hopefully the second bottle I bought won’t be like that. Drank the second bottle, but it was too young; it could still use another 2–3 years. A light, slightly fruity wine.
