Domaine François Chidaine

François Chidaine began in 1989 in Montlouis-sur-Loire with a few hectares of vineyards, setting out with nothing but passion in his heart and unwavering perseverance. His raw material is Chenin, the grape variety of the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation. From the very beginning, he recognized the richness of the appellation.

Aware that he had a unique natural heritage at his disposal, François Chidaine cultivated each plot individually and produced a variety of wines tailored to the specific characteristics of the vines. It was also in this spirit that, from the very start, he took an interest in Organic viticulture, and later in biodynamics. By 1999, the entire vineyard was being cultivated according to these principles.

That same year, Domaine François Chidaine expanded, and his wife Manuéla joined him, followed three years later by Nicolas Martin. In 2006, Domaine François Chidaine acquired vineyards in Vouvray, which are also cultivated biodynamically by this trio. They produce wines with luminous hues that are appreciated for their balance and become more refined with age.
