Reuilly
A neighbor of the Quincy appellation, located in Centre-LoireReuilly covers a small area of around 180 hectares, on the hillsides along the banks of the Arnon, a tributary of the Cher. The wines are fruity, light and delicious. For the whites, Sauvignon, with its dry, fruity profile; for the rosés, Pinot Gris, with its tender profile; and for the reds, Pinot Noir, with its fruity, charming profile.

Although they share common expressions, Reuilly wines differ according to the winemaker's style.

Discover the Reuilly appellation

Located in the Berry region, the Reuilly appellation vineyards are spread across the Indre and Cher departments. They belong to the Centre Val de Loire family of wines. Recognized as an AOC since 1937 for white wine and 1961 for red and rosé, Reuilly vines have been around since antiquity, but their fame really began under the reign of King Dagobert.
The vineyard occupies sunny hillsides overlooking the Arnon and Théols rivers. This location on high terraces and medium slopes gives it a sandy-gravelly, clay-limestone soil type. Sauvignon, the main grape variety, produces a dry, fruity white wine, while red wines are made from pinot noir and rosés from pinot gris alone or a blend of pinot noir and gris.

Discover the taste of Reuilly

The whites

Reuilly blanc is emblematic of Loire wines. Made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, it is renowned for its good taste and pronounced acidity. Fruity, light and dry, it can be kept from 1 to 4 years, depending on the vintage. To enjoy, it is best consumed at a temperature of between 10 and 12 degrees. Lovers of fresh wines will appreciate its floral and vegetal notes, punctuated by minerality.

The reds

Red wines, with their ruby hue and fruity aromas, are supple, silky, light wines that can be kept for around 2 years. They should be drunk between 13 and 16 degrees. Some, aged in oak barrels, have a more pronounced character and can be kept for around 5 years.

Rosé wines

Reuilly rosé, made from pinot gris grapes, has a pale pink color. Its fruity notes of white peach and apricot seduce from the first mouthful. It should be drunk at between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius, and can be kept for up to 5 years.

This white wine goes well with cold starters, shellfish, fish and white meats. But its favorite pairing is with goat's cheese, especially the famous crottin de Chavignol, which is produced just outside Reuilly.

The generosity of reds makes them ideal for dishes in sauce and roast poultry. But they also go well with grilled meats and sauerkraut.
Originality is to be found in rosés. Pairing with exotic cuisine and spicy dishes will produce surprising combinations. When young, Reuilly rosés are excellent as aperitifs. If you wait a few years, they will become astonishing dessert wines.
