Reuilly
Neighboring the Quincy appellation, located in Center-LoireReuilly covers a small area of approximately 180 hectares on the hillsides bordering the banks of the Arnon, a tributary of the Cher. The wines are fruity, light, and delicious. For whites, Sauvignon, with a dry and fruity profile; for rosés, Pinot Gris, with a tender profile; and for reds, Pinot Noir, with a fruity and charming profile.

Although they share common characteristics, Reuilly wines differ depending on the winemaker's style.

Discover the Reuilly appellation

Located in Berry, the vineyards of the Reuilly appellation are spread across the departments of Indre and Cher. They belong to the Centre Val de Loire wine family. Recognized as an AOC since 1937 for white wine and 1961 for red and rosé, the vineyards of Reuilly have been present since ancient times, but their fame really began during the reign of King Dagobert.
The vineyard occupies sunny hillsides overlooking the Arnon and Théols rivers. Its location on high terraces and moderate slopes gives it a sandy-gravelly, clay-limestone soil. Sauvignon, the main grape variety, produces a dry, fruity white wine, while the red wines are made from Pinot Noir and the rosés from Pinot Gris alone or a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.

The whites

Reuilly blanc is emblematic of Loire wines. Made from the Sauvignon grape variety, it is renowned for its taste and fairly pronounced acidity. Fruity, light, and dry, it can be stored for between 1 and 4 years from its vintage date. It is best enjoyed at a temperature of between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius. Lovers of fresh wines will appreciate its floral and vegetal notes, punctuated with minerality.

The Reds

Red wines, distinguished by their ruby color and fruity aromas, are smooth, silky, and light wines that can be stored for about two years. They should be served at a temperature between 55 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Some, aged in oak barrels, have a more pronounced character and can be stored for about five years.

Rosé wines

Reuilly rosé wine, made from Pinot Gris grapes, has a pale pink color. Its fruity notes of white peach and apricot are seductive from the very first sip. It should be served at between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius and can be cellared for up to five years.

Discover the Reuilly agreements

White wine pairs well with cold appetizers, shellfish, fish, and white meats. But its favorite pairing is with goat cheese, especially the famous Crottin de Chavignol, which is produced entirely in Reuilly.

Red wines, with their generous flavor, pair well with dishes served with sauce and roasted poultry. But they also go well with grilled meats and sauerkraut.
The originality lies in the rosés. Pairing them with exotic cuisine and spicy dishes produces surprising combinations. When very young, Reuilly rosés are excellent as an aperitif. If you wait a few years, they become amazing wines for desserts.
