“A wonderful introduction to the appellation!”

“A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, the Ventoux Terrasses 2023 is a juicy, pure, and medium-bodied wine that perfectly embodies the Ventoux terroir with its vibrant, mineral-driven style. Notes of red and black fruits, peppery garrigue, crushed stone, and spring flowers blossom in this wine. Medium-bodied and wonderfully pure, it features well-integrated acidity and a lovely finish.” (Jeb Dunnuck 2025)

This family-run estate, now in its third generation, produces a wide range of full-bodied wines across some 70 hectares, in a modern and ambitious style that ranks them among the must-try wines of the Ventoux region. Rated wine (2025 guide) 91/100 (Excellent wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

The Ventoux Terrasses 2023 opens with notes of wild cherry, red plum, garrigue, crushed stone, and a hint of black pepper. Medium-bodied and well-balanced, it offers a core of red fruit that is precise rather than opulent, framed by fine, chalky tannins and vibrant acidity. This is a balanced and elegant southern Rhône red, focused less on muscular power than on tension and freshness, which should drink well over the next 5 to 8 years.

Rated Estate (2023 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

The history of this estate began in the 1970s, when the Chaudière grandparents restored the château and part of the vineyard. Paul and Edith then set the course by leaving the cooperative and focusing on terroir selection. Since 2000, their sons, Frédéric and Alexandre, have been overseeing the future of this vast vineyard. We are captivated by the stylistic shift in the wines: they have truly gained in finesse and flavor, and beautifully reflect the freshness of the terroir.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 12/27/2025

A full-bodied wine with flavors of ripe fruit and spices glides across the palate with a most pleasant smoothness and a vibrant acidity that temper the warmth of the vintage. The velvety texture of the dominant Grenache beautifully complements the aromas of a lamb moussaka.
