Calmel & Joseph
The Calmel & Joseph House was founded in 1995 by Jérôme Joseph, a native of Languedoc with a passion for fine dining and a strong interest in wine. A self-taught wine selector and taster, he wanted to devote himself to producing wines from Languedoc, one of France's richest but also most complex wine-growing regions. This became a reality in 2007 when Laurent Calmel, an oenologist with extensive experience abroad, joined him.
Convinced by the wine-growing potential of the Languedoc region, they forged close ties with numerous winegrowers, vinifying, blending, and aging their wines as naturally as possible using the most rigorous plot selection process.
The cultivation methods used by Maison Calmel & Joseph are natural and environmentally friendly (without certification labels). The entire range of wines is produced from rigorously selected plots.
Manual harvesting, gentle vinification, careful blending, and flexible bottling bring out the balance and original aromas of local grape varieties.
